On Halloween 2024, Duran Duran made history at Madison Square Garden with a performance of “Evil Woman.” The show, directed by Jonas Åkerlund, is a tribute to the Danse Macabre album.
Duran Duran has released a stunning live performance video of their cover of Electric Light Orchestra's “Evil Woman.” The performance was filmed at the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York City on October 31, 2024, during the band’s Halloween show. Directed by the acclaimed Swedish filmmaker Jonas Åkerlund (Madonna, Beyoncé, Metallica, Lady Gaga), the video captures the band’s electrifying stage presence.
Titled “Evil Woman (Live From Madison Square Garden)”, the video celebrates the band’s latest studio album, Danse Macabre. The album’s concept originated from Duran Duran’s Halloween-themed show at the Encore Theatre in Wynn, Las Vegas, on October 31, 2022. The band—Simon Le Bon, John Taylor, Nick Rhodes, and Roger Taylor—performed in full costumes on a stage set with giant skeletons, gravestones, spider webs, and coffins, creating a one-of-a-kind spectacle.
Fast forward to 2024, and Duran Duran once again invited Halloween enthusiasts to dress up and join them for a grand Halloween ball at Madison Square Garden. The concert was a highlight of the year, following their standout performance at the Latitude Festival 2024.
To celebrate the first anniversary of Danse Macabre, a De Luxe edition of the album is now available digitally, on CD, and as a special box set. This expanded release includes three bonus tracks and a reimagined version of their classic song “New Moon on Monday,” from the album Seven and The Ragged Tiger, featuring Andy Taylor.
